Funding is used to conduct background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety and provide ongoing support for children, families and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships, a key contributor to a successful mentoring relationship. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 9, 2010 Second Annual “Fore” The Kids Golf Outing Exceeds Fundraising Success of Inaugural Outing NEWBURGH, NY – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County hosted the second annual “Fore” The Kids Golf Classic at West Point Golf Course on Monday, August 30th, and raised over $31,000, an increase over the outing’s successful first year. All the profits from the event will go directly to the agency and mentoring initiatives in Event co-chairs Wayne Martin and Jeff Babcock credited the success of the event to returning major sponsors such as Goldstein, Karlewicz and Goldstein, CPA’s, LLP, Progress Transit, Bergen Jaguar, and DeFeo’s Marina of Greenwood Lake. They were also grateful for new major sponsors, Walden Savings Bank, Newburgh Nissan, and HSBC. Additionally, 114 golfers gave generously as they partook of the pristine course on a bright and sunny August day. Other event sponsors who made the day possible were Carbonella Coal Fired Pizza, Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP, Mechtronics Corporation, MHVSHRM, Safari Telecom, Scancarello & Sons, Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush Funeral Home, William F.
